June recap: EveryDejaVu heating up in the summer
Juno Rucker, Eyndigo, and Satchel Brown all with new singles.
With days hitting over 100 degrees in Boston (something like 38 degrees Celsius for those in other parts of the world), I think summer has arrived. To me, this is the time of the year that gets a little difficult to stay up to date with posting on social media, planning Twitch streams, and other internet things because I want to be outside more and doing more things. But that only means some priorities shift a little bit: we’re still keeping things rolling and being busy! We’re working hard behind the scenes to bring you all of our artists’ new music still and looking to announce event sooner rather than later.
On that note, June has been BUSY. Three singles from three different artists, all different genres. Juno Rucker kicked it off with an alt-pop infectious banger, Eyndigo followed up with an empowering R&B summer song, and Satchel Brown brought introspection and improvisation with his latest single “Broken Promises.” Read about it all below!
“HOW HIGH” by Juno Rucker
Emerging from a two-year creative hiatus, we’re excited to release alternative pop artist Juno Rucker’s new single, “HOW HIGH,” a contemplative exploration of emotional reciprocity and personal boundaries.
“HOW HIGH” delves into the complexities of relationships, posing the poignant question: “I always wondered how high someone would go for me… most of the time, it’s me giving more energy.” The song’s genesis was rooted in Rucker’s personal experiences, as he navigated past issues with friends and family, channeling his thoughts during long walks and studio sessions into a cohesive musical narrative.
Despite a serious topic that may be relatable to some, it’s a fun track perfect for summer. Listen here now!
“whoops!” by Eyndigo
We released Eyndigo’s last EP, MOLE RAT, last October. With reverb-drenched vocals and airy, 90s-inspired Jungle-style drum and bass, the EP surreally walks you backwards through romantic toxicity and heartbreak.
Now, the Atlanta singer is back with a fun, confident summer jam “whoops!” It’s a dreamy, sweet flex: part personal confession, part playful power move. It gives sensuality, obsession, and soft dominance. There’s ambient, spacey production that holds space for cheeky yet enchanting vocals that blur the line between vulnerability and control. It’s a uniquely Atlanta sound: bold, ethereal, and unforgettable.
“Broken Promises” by Satchel Brown
Satchel Brown returns with “Broken Promises,” the lead single from his forthcoming instrumental EP The Elitist, a boundary-pushing exploration of voice through instrumentation. Recorded in a single day, the track fuses spontaneous jazz improvisation with composed arrangements, drawing from both classic and contemporary influences.
With rich textures driven by a live band—Jon Redwood on keys, Maliq Wynn on drums, Alex Rashad on saxophone, and Satchel himself on bass—“Broken Promises” weaves a sonic narrative rooted in emotional expression without words. It’s the second major work in Satchel’s evolution as a composer, following his shift from songwriter to instrumental storyteller.
